Dang. Your post title by itself almost brought a tear to my eye.
I felt emotions when I drove my rusted out crap-can 92 Caravan to the junkyard with water pouring out of the exhaust pipe like a garden hose (severe head gasket failure
)
.
I may be overly sentimental.

If I said you’ll fully get over it, I’d be telling a lie. I still have some pangs of regret from parting with my old W126 and the E55. But you’ll move on and find something else to love. You can’t keep them all.
Looking through some old poorly captured images, I found one for you:

Ah man I’m getting emotional about someone I’ve never met selling their car. I’m really going to miss seeing it around here.

Goodbye Miata! I have truly loved reading about you and the adventures you took it on. You really loved that car and did wonderful things with it and I will miss those stories around these parts.

This was the car that brought me to Oppo. I hope the new owner takes care of it. Farewell Miata!

I wasn't expecting to be so torn up. These rust buckets really do hold a piece of our soul captive

He just sent me this. He wants to use my Miata to start his autox and track journey. Seems like a good next step to me...
I may have left a few photos with info written on the back. Maybe we'll see him around these parts someday

It’s OK for you to have feelings about it. It’s kinda weird for me to feel something for someone else’s car.
Third photo from the bottom - the flip up headlights make it look more like a living thing.
My last sentence reminded me of ELO. Lyrics are appropriate here

The NA just looked so happy to be included. I especially love that one in front of the imposing government building where the Miata is just smiling away. Farewell, unofficial vehicle of Oppo.

You should make it a legal requirement that the new owner shall continue posting on oppo with the car!

Why exactly did you sell this?
The hood vents were interesting. Don’t see gold vents everyday.

Ha. That Building is the Washington State capital building. I drove up on the walkway on a workday a nd was instantly surrounded by a good dozen cop cars that seemed to just materialize out of thin air . They all got out, and I calmly asked if someone would be willing to take a picture...
Pretty hood behind-the-scenes for that one :)

Whenever I see these photos, I think of that brown e-class (?) and your... Uhh... Also e-class? Man, I need to work on my Benz knowledge. Anyways, I loved both of the Mercedes' present on that drive.

And what a picture it is. Who knew that it might be deserted on a weekday? Or was it one of the months the legislature doesn’t meet? I believe Georgia’s only meets 4 months or so out of the year.
Looks like there isn’t such a good photo opportunity locally, but I’ve thought about getting one with the B ig Chicken in the background.
I bet taking that photo was the most interesting thing to happen to those guards that day, though I don’t think a tiny open top roadster would make a very good vehicle to perpetrate a crime with.

The brown E550 coupe is an uncommon car in that spec. I had a dark blue E sedan at the time. If you ever get into MBs, I know I’ll hear about it :)

Quite the adventures that Miata has been on, and I’m sure you’ve got some incredible memories that go along with these pics. Hang onto those my friend!

Sorry to dig up an old post, but I haven’t been on Oppo much, and I wanted to know if you went through with it... Now I’m kinda sad. :(
One of my favorite Oppo cars. Fare thee well!
Now back to living vicariously through your continued adventures on 2 wheels!

I keep hoping to see it locally. At least it went to a good home.
I saw your big ol' wheeled couch, looks like you're living the 2 wheel life as well!

I’ve been working from home the last few weeks, but once I’m going back to the “office” I’ll be living the 2 wheeled life. I’ve taken it out a few times- it’s a darn nice bike!
